Places to take your camera

I guess if you take a camera to church you will either be attending a wedding or a christening or a celebration of some sort of happy occasion. Family historians have a different mind-set it seems. When Peter, a friend of through Family History interests, went to Figgs Marsh Cemetery in Mitcham towards the end of last year he took his camera there. He was searching for his grandparents' grave so that he could have a record of its location. He found it and also received an answer to the identity of someone else in his family but in doing so came across 3 graves with Hookins names on (all from the same Tree) so he snapped those for me and sent them on. I happen to have met the next of kin of a couple of the people buried in those plots and although I had some of the information it provided further evidence of other information. So if you are likely to be going into a graveyard, you can continue to take flowers but maybe also take a camera. You never know who you might come across - and if it's a Hookins let me know.
